bareftinthesnow @ 06:23 pm: finger foods
What kinds of food does one serve at a knitting party? Ordinarily I'd have seasonal fruit (which right now means mandarin oranges), chips and salsa, pitas and hummus...

My Indian friend was going to help me cook, and initially I wanted to have all Indian food but samosas and pakodas are just so messy! I think pitas and hummus are still on, but what else should I offer that won't make for sticky hands and spills?

P.S. No cow at my table. No cow juice either.

mmmm. I always have trouble making deep-fried tofu, might be a good excuse to experiment with that.

Tempura tofu cubes. Yum. With soft tofu, it's like fried cheese.

I'd strongly suggest other foods on toothpicks too. Or forkables. I think you're right about the sticky finger situation. Unless you had out a set of pretty finger bowls as well, perhaps? With knitted hand towels?
